The Client
The Cedars, is a residential unit housing 16 adults aged between 24 -70yrs with severe learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviour. The home is part of the Dorset Health Care Trust.
The Issues and Challenge
The residents are secure in routine and therefore any unusual activities outside of their normal regime can cause disproportionate excitement and curiosity. Many have no fear of danger and consequently may want to investigate the machinations of the heavy electrical cleaning equipment or tasted the solvents putting themselves and others at risk.As this is a high dependency unit, infection control and cleanliness are sacrecent.
The Solution
Chris Stone, MD Matrix Cleaning Solutions, is a registered nurse (RNLD). He personally ensures that all his staff involved with residential homes strictly adheres to the infection control standards and health and safety checks as regulated by Matrix’s own policies, the National Health Service Guidelines and the Health and Saftey Executive. All Matrix’s electrical equipment is risked assessed for usage in residential home settings and regularly P.A.T tested, ensuring electrical safety. Contracted to thoroughly clean interiors of the specialist unit, including bathrooms and kitchens, as well as deep clean the carpets at regular intervals. The carpets are specially treated to address hygiene issues and remove stains and odours.
